Field Visits

Contextual Inquiry / Field Visits

Contextual inquiry is a structured method for performing field interviews or field visits. The goal of any contextual inquiry or field visit is to observe the user in their native environment — the context of use is essential to any design. The visit also establishes a personal connection which can be useful later in the design process.

Field visits can be conducted in the work environment or home environment depending on the product under design.
